Amazing Chrome Calculator Belt Buckle

There is a fine line between a geek and a nerd. While to some, the two words describe socially inept people that happen to be too smart for their own good. In my opinion a nerd is more obsessive about technical knowledge and sets it above all else, including social activities. They are generally the ones you think of that wear their pants too high, a pocket protector and a pair of broken glasses. I think that fellow geeks would agree that we take offense at being called a nerd. If you do happen to be a nerd and wish to always have a calculator at hand, this is the belt buckle for you.

The Calculator Belt is exactly what it sounds like, a belt buckle with a built-in calculator. Granted, it’s no scientific calculator, but you’ll be able to perform at least the most rudimentary calculations. I’m not really sure how well it can be utilized while holding your pants up past your waist, but I’m sure you’ll figure it out.

If you’re looking for a cheap gift for the nerd in your life, or need a good gag gift, this should suit your needs just fine. The best part is that it won’t break the bank with its $9.99 price tag.

Available from BeWild, found via Nerd Approved.

glowingeyeballs.jpg

When you just can’t get enough macabre for Halloween, you can head on over to X-treme Geek to pick up a 3 pack of Glow in the Dark Eyeballs.

They must be designed using Super Balls, because the description states that they are “super bouncy”. They also suggest that you hide them in corners for when the lights go out for some “great fun.” However, I think I have a much better idea: I would buy a couple of sets and place them in pairs around a room, on bookshelves, above curtains, under the entertainment center and THEN turn out the lights. The scare would be complete with some fine acting by yours truly to make it seem that there are creatures of the night watching us! It would be brilliant!

Sold in a 3 pack for the low, low price of $2.49. At that price, you can buy more than one set.

Racing Grannies

When I was a kid, my favorite toys were Legos, my Mickey Mouse Club Weebles and the set of slot racing RC cars. We’d dig that box of cars out every Saturday and set up the track, fight over who got to go first and we would race and race around that little track for hours. There were times where we would go too fast into a corner and the car would go flying off the track, then we’d have to retrieve the wayward car from under the couch and go another round. Once we fought over who got to go next, that is.

Now the folks over at What on Earth come out with a more mature version of my childhood favorite. The Racing Grannies, which includes two sweet little old ladies in their non-powered wheelchairs, is another type of slot racing cars that I remembered so fondly as a child. You can live out your fantasy of pitting granny against granny in a head to head match of epic proportions as you blaze around the track (trying not to fling Granny off under the couch, of course)

The track also features a sweet suicide track junction for that daredevil octogenarian in all of us. Who doesn’t love grandmas that have a thirst for adrenaline?

The 10-piece track includes individual, wired controls, track pieces and the two sweet little grannies. Requires four AA batteries (not included). Grannies are 3¼”H; assembled track is 15½” x 25½”. The set is $19.95.

They will burn rubber, but they will not bake you cookies.

Swiss Aromatherapy Pens
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but how many do you get for a scent? I suppose that it all depends on the smell. I’m sure that a skunk’s spray would only be worth a few unpleasant words, while the scent of perfume on a letter would be worth considerably more. Unfortunately getting the desired smell onto a piece of paper requires one to actually spray perfume onto it. Unless you’ve got a fancy Aromatherapy pen, that is.

I really can’t say for sure why these were actually created. The Swiss Aromatherapy Pen is a standard ballpoint on one end, while the other has a roller ball that dispenses one of six different aromas. Since it has the word aromatherapy right in the name, I would venture a guess that you’d use this on your own paper to feel the affects yourself. Perhaps you would just hold it close to your nose and inhale. However, I see this being used by teenage girls when composing notes to their boyfriends.

If you’re interested in spreading a few good smells in your office, this Aromatherapy pen should do the trick. The scents include rose, mint, grapefruit, eucalyptus, ginger, lavender and orange. The pen itself will set you back $50, while the refills will cost you $28.

Roboscorpian

We all know that the holiday season is fast approaching, which is always a tough time of the year. Kids have it easy, all they have to do is open presents and remember to say thank you. However those of us that are all grown up have to purchase said gifts. Of course there’s always that one nephew that you have no idea what to get. He’s too old for toys, and you’re not close enough to him to spend any decent money on a cool gadget or video game. Your best bet is to get him something completely off-the-wall. Something like a robotic scorpion should do the trick.

Sure, the Roboscorpion might not have a lot of practical uses, but who cares? Not many people can say that they have a remote-controlled robot that looks and acts like a real scorpion. Yes, I’m sure little Timmy would enjoy it much more if the stinger actually stung and poisoned people, but since you’re related to his parents, it’s probably best that it does no such thing.

There actually isn’t a lot of information available on the Roboscorpion, however, we do know that its movement was actually modeled after real scorpions. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery and comes with a battery charger and a remote control. This terrifying mechanical monster can be yours for just $30.
